Attorney Profiles

Derek C. Johnson is a member of the bars of the states of Washington, California and Oregon.  He has practiced law in Oregon and has been a shareholder in the firm since 1993. Mr. Johnson focuses his practice in the areas of personal injury, defective products, truck and motor vehicle collisions, nursing home negligence, environmental torts, and wrongful death.

Mr. Johnson received his J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1985. He completed his L.L.M. in Marine Affairs at the University of Washington in 1987. He received his Bachelor's Degree in History with honors from Williams College in 1981, and a B.A. in French from the Universite de Poitiers in 1982.

Mr. Johnson is the 2006/7 President of the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association. He is past Chair of the Oregon State Bar Disciplinary Board, past Chair of the Oregon Government Ethics Commission, and currently serves on the Civil Law Advisory Commission at the request of the Chief Justice of the Oregon Supreme Court.

Mr. Johnson is admitted to practice in the courts of Oregon, Washington, and California, in federal courts of Washington and Oregon, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Johnson is a member of the American Association for Justice, the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association, and the Lane County Bar Association.
